Notice to Contractors
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that electronic bids for the Puyallup Unit Price Bid - Streets be received at
QuestCDN until 2:00 p.m., August 3, 2021. Bids will be opened, read, and tabulated immediately
following via Skype meeting. Bids will not be accepted by the on-line bidding system after 2pm.
Bids are to be submitted only in the format accepted by QuestCDN, and all bids must be
accompanied by a bid bond submitted electronically, using the form supplied in the bid
documents. The Skype meeting can be accessed by calling 253-841-5587, conference ID is 31349,
and plan holders will be sent an invite in case they would like to see the opening along with audio.
The improvements for which bids will be received are described as follows:
Project Description: Unit price bids for items needed for various small to medium sized
projects identified by Public Works but not associated with a larger capital improvement
project, asphalt patching, pothole patching, small grind and overlays, curb and gutter
replacement, and minor sidewalk replacement. Unit prices will be used to estimate and
execute individual work orders throughout the year for identified work by any of the Public
Works Departments or other Departments within the City that may need such services. The
initial contract will be for 1 year with the option for 1 additional year if both parties agree to
adhere to the unit prices from original bid.
All work shall be physically complete within the number of days agreed to with each work
order after receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days that
prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Puyallup reserves the right to accept a
proposal of the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities in
the bid or in the bidding.
Pre-Bid Site Visit: There is no pre-bid site visit since the work has yet to be identified. All
bidders shall download the digital plans as indicated below, Online Access/Bidding. Hard copies
WILL NOT BE SOLD for this project. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, no plans will be
available for viewing in person. Online Access/Bidding Complete digital Project Manual is available online for
viewing/bidding at: www.QuestCDN.com. Plan holders shall register and download
the digital plan documents at this website for $15. Reference Job No. 7938365 on the
website’s Project Search page. Bidding will cost the registered plan holder an additional
$15 to submit a bid.
Financing of the Project has been provided, and payment to the Contractor by regular monthly
payments for labor and materials furnished will be by City check. The City expressly reserves
the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive minor informalities.
