In September of 2014, the Puyallup Police Department embarked on a process to develop a Strategic Plan. Ultimately, 12 members of PPD were selected to form the Strategic Plan Steering Committee. Over the course of three months, the Steering Committee met for a total of 9 days, and spent time between meetings conducting research, interviewing stakeholders and drafting initiatives. Key community stakeholders completed questionnaires and then made presentations to the committee. These external stakeholders included leaders from important organizations in the City of Puyallup, to include Pierce College, Good Sam Hospital and the Puyallup School District.
The goal of the strategic planning process is to guide PPD in accomplishing our mandates, fulfill our mission, achieve our vision, meet the needs of our stakeholders and to strengthen public value for the police department. This is a five year plan that will be renewed each year so we can always be looking 5 years into the future.
