2018 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments

Background

The City of Puyallup adopted a major update to its Comprehensive Plan in November, 2015. Throughout the update process, a number of properties were identified, for various reasons, as potentially requiring a zoning change. As an implementation item of the Comprehensive Plan update, mapping designations (e.g. land use and/or zoning) for many of the identified properties were amended last year. However, there are seven remaining areas in the city that will be reviewed as part of the 2018 Comprehensive Plan Amendments. 

In addition, there is one city-initiated map amendment for 703 39th Ave SE (Parcel #0419102123) that will also be reviewed as part of the 2018 map amendments. Public Meetings

The proposed map amendments for the first seven areas were introduced to the Puyallup Planning Commission on May 23, 2018. The city-initiated map amendment (map #8) will be introduced to the Commission on August 22, 2018; meeting will start at 6:30pm in Council Chambers, 5th floor of City Hall (333 S. Meridian). The project is anticipated to go to the Planning Commission for a public hearing in September, followed by a public hearing with City Council in October. 

Questions/Comments

Staff and the Planning Commission would like to hear any concerns or comments regarding the proposed map changes. If you would like to provide input, you may submit written comments by using the comment box provided at the bottom of this webpage, or by emailing the project planner using the contact information provided. Verbal comments may also be provided to the Planning Commission at the upcoming meetings.
